Regular Council Meeting

August 5, 2019

The August council meeting was called to order by President of Council, Paul Price, with the following council members present: Margie Clement, Gloria Leiter, Tom Emery, and Doug Price. Stacy Adam with Van Wert Area Economic Development was also in attendance.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The bills were presented as follows:

Gloria Leiter moved to pay all bills. Tom Emery seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Old Business

Pugh read the resolution to proceed with placing the fire levies on the November ballot. Gloria Leiter moved to accept the resolution. Doug Price seconded. A roll-call vote was taken with a unanimous ‘yes’ vote indicated.

New Business

Stacy Adam spoke to council about the possibility of the creation of a local building department being developed in Van Wert County. This department would ease the process for commercial building projects inspections to be completed. There would be no cost to the village to belong to this group. At this time, the county is waiting on the city of Van Wert to decide the next step.

At 6:45 p.m. Gloria Leiter moved for adjournment. Meeting adjourned.

The next meeting will be moved to Monday, September 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. due to the Labor Day holiday.
