Regular Council Meeting

November 5, 2018


The November council meeting was called to order by President of Council, Paul Price, with the following council members present: Doug Price, Margie Clement, Gloria Leiter, and Tom Emery. Also in attendance was Craig Knapke.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mayor Kimmet joined the meeting at 6:40 p.m.

Doug Price moved to pay all bills. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Old Business

Craig Knapke updated the council on the progress of the street project. He stated that $8660 was used from the contingency fund. He also noted that back filling should be taken care of before we get too far into the winter months, and that everything should be buttoned up by then. The council spoke on behalf of the residents that had stated that there were mailbox issues; temporary boxes need to be put in place.

Tom Emery moved to approve the pay request of $211,803.78 to PAB Contracting for services rendered thus far and authorize the necessary signatures. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken with a unanimous ‘yes’ vote indicated. Motion passed. This brings that CDGB grant balance to $0, with the remaining $36,969.44 coming from the Ohio Public Works Grant.

A Welsh flag and U.S. flag have been purchased. Solar-powered lights will also be purchased to illuminate the flags.

New Business

The council would like to thank John Brewer and company for helping out with the Halloween activities in the village.


The council discussed the need for a person to remove snow for the up-coming winter season.


At 7:09 p.m. Gloria Leiter moved for adjournment. Meeting adjourned.
