Regular Council Meeting

October 2, 2017 7:30 p.m.


The October 2017 council meeting was called to order by Mayor Sarah Kimmet with the following council members present: Tom Emery, Paul Price, Doug Price, Marjorie Clement, Gloria Leiter, and Christina Young.


The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Marjorie Clement seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Old Business

Christina Young shared news that she had received word from Craig Knapke. He had reported that the final grant for street reconstruction had been approved. Following is a summary of the grant monies that the village will be receiving:

$500,000 OPWC

$280,000 CDBG

$108,000 ODOT

$ 10,000 Village

$898,000 TOTAL


Mr. Knapke plans to be at the November meeting to show the council plans for the project.


New Business

It was reported that a resident of the village was bitten by a dog owned by Kimra and William Rowlette near their residence on State Route 116.


Trick-or-Treat night will be held on October 28th from 6:00-7:30. A costume-judging contest will follow at the Lion’s Club at 8:00.


Residents are encouraged to vote in the up-coming election and to attend the supper held at the Lion’s Club that night.


There will be four vacant council seats for the term beginning in 2018. Applications can be picked up at the mayor’s house. All applications need to be returned no later than November 20, 2017.


At 7:43 p.m. Paul Price moved for adjournment. The next meeting will be Monday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
