Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Old Business

The council reported that the majority of the income surveys have been completed, but they are still continuing to collect from a few residents.

The mayor noted that the lawn mower is working properly after being fixed last month. A discussion was held concerning the vacant Martin residence. It was moved by Paul Price for the village to mow this property for the sake of aesthetics and to keep unwanted animals off of the property, but only while it is vacant. A roll-call vote was taken with a unanimous ‘yes’ voted indicated. Motion passed.

A reminder was made concerning the up-coming Sunshine Law meeting at the Van Wert County Annex Building in June.

New Business

The mayor explained that approximately $13.00 remains on the mower’s gas card. It was decided that Mr. Kimmet will purchase the gas himself and turn in receipts for reimbursement.

The dog ordinance still needs updated. It was suggested that ordinances from nearby entities be researched and used to rewrite Venedocia’s ordinance. Inviting the dog warden to the July council meeting was also discussed.

Seeking a person for the job of snow removal was tabled until later in the summer.

Leiter shared that both village radios have two new batteries. The radios were given to the mayor and Councilman Emery.

Young asked that the village website be updated and the mayor asked that the Ace Hardware account also be updated. Pugh will take care of these matters.

After the mayor asked if anyone felt there was a reason to continue paying for electric services to the town storage building for a single lightbulb, Doug Price moved to disconnect the electric. Christina Young seconded the motion. Motion carried.

At 6:40 p.m. Young moved for adjournment. Due to the Fourth of July holiday, the next meeting will be July 12, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
