Regular Council Meeting

March 2, 2015 7:00 p.m.


The March council meeting was called to order by Mayor Larry Eutsler. The following council members were present: Robert Louth, Gloria Leiter, Christina Young, and Tom Emery.


The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Gloria Leiter moved to pay all bills. Tom Emery seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Old Business

Councilman Young shared a picture of a 2004 John Deere 737 Mid Ztrak mower. It has a 60” deck and 848 hours. The mayor and Jim Grant looked into this mower at the dealer. The mayor reported it to be in very good condition. The cost of the mower is $4,750.00. After discussion, Robert Louth moved to purchase this mower. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken with the following results:

Motion passed.


Following this motion, a discussion was held concerning the payment options for the village mower this season. A call to village solicitor, Scott Gordon, will be made to investigate the options.



New Business

The mayor encouraged everyone to support the Venedocia Lions Club on March 21 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the annual Pancake and Sausage Day.


The Van Wert County Regional Planning Commission will be holding a Certified Public Records Training on March 13, 2015 from 10:00-11:15 a.m. Council members Leiter and Emery have agreed to go on behalf of the village.


There was talk about the possibility of a Verizon cell phone tower going up just south of town. Although a village address, at this time the township is handling all details.


At 7:48 p.m. Louth moved for adjournment. The next meeting will be April 6, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
