Village of Venedocia

Regular Council Meeting

January 5, 2015 6:00 p.m.


The first council meeting of the 2015 year was called to order by Mayor Larry Eutsler. The following council members were present: Robert Louth, Paul Price, Gloria Leiter, Christina Young, and Tom Emery. Also in attendance was village resident Tom Theobald.


The mayor’s first action of business was to assign the following members as voucher signers: Gloria Leiter, Paul Price, and Robert Louth.


The fiscal officer presented the 2015 Appropriations. A discussion was held about particular accounts and fund balances. Paul Price moved to accept the appropriations as prepared. Tom Emery seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken with the following results:

Gloria Leiter moved to pay all bills. Christina Young seconded the motion. Motion carried.


There was no Old Business to report at this time.


New Business

Mayor Eutsler noted the following assignments for council members:

Park Committee: Young and Emery

Safety Committee: Lare and Leiter

Street Committee: Louth and Price


Additional individual assignments were given in the form of contact people:

Young: Ron Puthoff and Brice Schmidtmeyer

Emery: AEP

Leiter: Scott Gordon

Louth: Spencerville VFW and ODOT

Price: village lawn care


Tom Theobald approached the council about his interest in mowing for the village during 2015. At this time, the village does not have equipment for mowing; therefore personal equipment would need to be used until the village buys a replacement. It was suggested the Theobald decide on his fee for his time, equipment, and supplies.


Gloria Leiter moved to secure Scott Gordon as the village solicitor. Christina Young seconded the motion. Motion passed. Leiter will contact Gordon about his interest in this position.


Gloria Leiter also moved to employ Kim Coil as the village custodian. Christina Young seconded the motion. Motion passed.


At 6:40 p.m. Louth moved for adjournment. The next meeting will be February 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
