Village of Venedocia

Venedocia Lions Club June 7, 2010

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Larry Eutsler with the following council members present: Charlie Good, Lee Lare, Gloria Leiter, Robert Louth, Paul Price, and Christina Young.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Old Business

It was reported that there has still been no news regarding either the Sue Linedecker or Sarah Kimmet properties.


New Business

Pugh stated that she will be working on the budget to be presented at the July meeting. She asked if any special circumstances should be taken into consideration when preparing the budget.


A discussion was held about a pile of rocks that have been placed on the town lot by Jason and Sarah Kimmet. The rocks are getting in the way of mowing the town lot. They will be asked to remove the rocks.


Ray Young sent a message that a spare part for the town siren has been ordered is on the way.


Lee Lare moved to decline a formal tax hearing with the county. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Charlie Good moved to accept the Resolution to Proceed with a 2.0-mil renewed fire levy to be placed on the November ballot. This levy generates approximately $990.00 that goes towards paying for the fire contract with Middle Point. Lee Lare seconded the motion. A roll-call vote was taken with all members indicating a “yes” vote. Motion carried.


Paul Price moved to allow the Salem Presbyterian Church to advertise the up-coming Vacation Bible School program in the village display case. Lee Lare seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Charlie Good moved to authorize the mayor to ask John Lloyd to fix the larger display board on the town lot. It needs new holes dug and new cement poured. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Paul Price moved to pay the Salem Presbyterian Youth group $300 for cleaning the streets of the village. Charlie Good seconded the motion. Motion carried.


The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 6th due to the Fourth of July holiday.
