Village of Venedocia



Venedocia Lions Club June 2, 2008


The meeting was called to order by Mayor Eutsler. The following council members were present at the time of roll call: Paul Price, Robert Louth, Gloria Leiter, Jeff Coil, and Charlie Good. Councilman Lare arrived during the reading of the minutes. Village resident Sarah Kimmet was also in attendance.


The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The bills were presented as follows:

Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Bills for Art’s Roll-off and Ace Hardware were presented at the meeting. Paul Price moved to also pay these bills. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Mayor Eutsler opened up the floor to Sarah Foust. She asked the council permission to cut the curb in front of her house in order for a driveway to be built. Charlie Good moved to allow this to be done. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Old Business

The last of ten dumpsters were to be picked up this week. Overall, the clean-up was very successful with a few residents declining to take advantage of the dumpsters. Letters will be sent to a list of properties that are noncompliant to Village ordinances is being formulated.


New Business

Mayor Eutsler reported that the Van Wert Youth Bureau is looking for work for 5-6 kids to do around the village as community service for the months of July and August. The ideas of painting the fence around the tennis court and pulling weeds were suggested.


Lee Lare made a motion to spend $500 to purchase a new volleyball net for the court and paint for the fence. Charlie Good seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Paul Price moved to donate $100 to Memorial Park on behalf of the Village. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


It was stated that the town tractor is in good shape now that it has been worked on.


Lee Lare moved to deny a formal budget hearing with the Van Wert County Budget Committee. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Jenny Pugh asked council for their permission to display a Vacation Bible School sign in the town display board. The council did not see a problem with this.


Paul Price moved for adjournment.
