Village of Venedocia


Venedocia Lions Club November 5, 2007


The meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen with the following council members present: Paul Price, Lee Lare, Gloria Leiter, Charlie Good, Jeff Coil, and Robert Louth. Also attending the meeting was village resident, Chad Pugh.


The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.


The bills were presented as follows:

Robert Louth moved to pay all bills. Jeff Coil seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Old Business

Street maintenance should be started on Monday, November 11th, reported council member Jeff Coil.


The council members noted that the new playground equipment looks nice. Ron Richards and Greg Richards have been cleaning up and painting the existing equipment. Thank you to both of them for their work. The merry-go-round is currently being repaired.


Mayor Ruen stated that the announcement board is posted. Electricity needs to be run in order to put the front on and finish the board.


Thank you to Time Warner Cable for the generous donation of $100 to help with the cost of the Halloween handouts.


New Business

Robert Louth moved to allow Chad Pugh to fill in as town mower for the remainder of the year. Lee Lare seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Fiscal officer, Jenny Pugh, read Ordinance 2007-4, an ordinance to increase the salary of the fiscal officer. A roll-call vote was taken with all members indicating a “yes” vote.

Also Ordinance 2007-5, an ordinance to increase the salary of the mayor, was read. A roll-call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”. Both ordinances will take affect on January 1, 2008.


Gloria Leiter moved to appoint Councilman Good as the designee to comply with Public Records Law R.C. 149.43 (the Public’s Right to Know policy). Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Good will be paid for his time spent at the meeting, reimbursed for mileage, and meals.


Jenny Pugh shared that the audit is finished and went well overall. More specific information will be available at the December meeting.


Pugh asked each council member to complete a mandatory form developed by the Ohio Department of Public Safety-Division of Homeland Security stating that they have not provided assistance to a terrorist organization. Those completed papers will be filed.


Paul Price moved to adjourn.
