Village of Venedocia



Venedocia Lions Club June 4, 2007


Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen with council members Charlie Good, Lee Lare, Gloria Leiter, Robert Louth, and Paul Price present.


The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.


The bills were presented as follows:

Paul Price moved to pay all bills. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Paul Price moved to pay Salem Presbyterian Church Youth Group $400.00 for cleaning the streets. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Old Business

It was reported that the junk vehicle has been removed from the Larry Eutsler residence.


Nothing has been done to secure the town tractor as discussed at the May meeting.


Jenny Pugh will submit a letter to the Van Wert County Engineers Office to request work done on alleys, slopes and embankments in the village.


Paul Price reported no luck in finding doors for the park restrooms.


Mayor Ruen asked that a thank-you note be sent to the Salem Presbyterian Youth group for their work in cleaning the streets last month.


New Business

The question was raised about how much money has been set aside for the purpose of playground equipment. Mayor Ruen and Jenny Pugh will work on getting that information.


Gloria Leiter moved to decline a formal budget hearing for the village. Lee Lare seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Paul Price moved to accept the resolution to renew the fire levy. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried.


Mayor Ruen stated that the following terms of office will expire at the end of this year:

Councilman Good, Councilman Louth, Mayor Ruen, Clerk-Treasurer Pugh.


Councilman Lare will contact Bruns again to clean catch basins.

Mayor Ruen reported that the Van Wert Economic Development Committee will have a dinner and meeting on Wednesday June 27th.

Paul Price moved for adjournment. Meeting adjourned.

Next meeting will be held on July 2nd.
