Old Business

Brad Core from Core Consulting reported the results of the town lot survey for the possible location of a branch library.  The following is a summary of the report:

∙the four corners of the lot were marked and compared with the records at the court house

∙this project would be considered a commercial endeavor

∙there is a problem with fitting the state required 1000 gallon tank and 400 linear feet of leaching tile on the lot, however it might be possible to install 200 feet of leaching tile for the primary system and another 200 feet for a back-up system

∙there would be no room for a parking lot on this site

∙Core Consulting would reduce the usual fee by half for designing the system to submit to the state; it would cost approximately $1000-1500 to submit design plans with no guarantee of them being approved

∙Mr. Core was asked about the possibility of using a holding tank; Core stated that it could get costly to pump such a system out each year

∙Councilman Coil inquired where a well would be placed; Mr. Core had not factored that in to the plans and felt that a well would not fit, along with all the other necessities, on this site

Councilman Good moved to reserve $1500 for Core Consulting to proceed with the application process.  The motion died for lack of a second.

Councilman Coil moved to not pursue the option of a holding tank.  The motion died for a lack of a second.

Council asked Core if one acre of land would be enough to fit all necessary components for such an endeavor.  He agreed that one acre would be enough.

The council thanks Core Consulting for donating the time and resources for the survey of the town lot.

Paul Price reported that the park restroom doors have been ordered.

Approximately $106.00 was raised at the Ice Cream Social for the benefit of the branch library.
