Village of Venedocia

 

 

Venedocia Lions Club                                                                              April 3, 2006

 

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen with council members Lee Lare, Gloria Leiter, Robert Louth, Paul Price and Jeff Coil present.  Also present were Sarah Kimmet and Ron Richards.

 

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

 

The bills were presented as follows:

Our Tree Service                       $350.00            (#4040)

Jenny Pugh                            $221.94            (#4041)

OPERS                                  $56.75            (#4042)

Reliable Plumbing/Heating    $3.00              (#4043)

Treasurer State of Ohio            $240.00            (#4044)

 

Paul Price moved to pay all bills.  Jeff Coil seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Old Business

Ron Richards, a member of the Venedocia Library Committee, asked if the village would be willing to pay for utilities of the proposed facility.  A discussion about the potential locations of the branch library was held.  Robert Louth made a motion to have the town lot surveyed.  Paul Priced seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Mayor Ruen asked the council to revisit the idea of joining with the other area villages in seeking grant money by grant writer Ron Puthoff.  Gloria Leiter moved to have an income survey done in the village.  Lee Lare seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

New Business

Mayor Ruen announced that Government Day will be held in Lima on April 27th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. if anyone is interested in attending.

 

Clerk/Treasurer Jenny Pugh made it known that the state of Ohio has donated the current village computer to the village, as the village will soon be receiving a new computer.  Anyone interested in buying the old computer should contact Pugh.

 

Mayor Ruen asked if there was a need for new park equipment.  If so, he will proceed with the Van Wert County Foundation grant.  The idea of new slides was mentioned.

 

Jeff Coil moved to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned. 

Next meeting will be May 1, 2006.
