Village of Venedocia Council Minutes

 

 

Venedocia Lions Club                                                                  December 6, 2004

 

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen with council members Jeff Davis, Charlie Good, Lee Lare, Gloria Leiter, Paul Price and Robert Louth present.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read.  A correction was made to the notes concerning the large dip in the alley by the post office.  The phrase “at the curb” was added.  The minutes were then approved.

 

The bills were presented as follows:

Upon the completion of the reading of the bills, it was brought to the clerk’s attention that the wages of Robert Louth, Charlie Good, and Jeff Davis were incorrect.  Supplemental checks were issued to Robert Louth and Charlie Good and a new check was issued to Jeff Davis.  In addition, corrections were made to the PERS payment and check #3846 was voided. The following new checks were issued later that night:

Paul Price moved to pay all bills.  Jeff Davis seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Old Business

Councilman Good reported that the town pumps are now in.

 

Mayor Ruen stated that Barry Coil is currently not available to remove the excess stone on the streets.

 

Mayor Ruen said that Tom Evans has been contacted about snow removal this season.  Bob Pugh will be contacted for back-up help.

 

New Business

Mayor Ruen mentioned that once again he would be applying for a Van Wert County Foundation grant.  He will be requesting money to buy an electronic defibrillator.

 

Jenny Pugh asked the council to consider paying visiting clerk, Ed Sites, a rate of $16.00 per hour for a total of 10-15 hours to train her on the UAN payroll system.  This would allow the clerk to use the payroll system without attending a training session in Columbus.  Robert Louth moved to pay Ed Sites the stated amount.  Lee Lare seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

                                                                                                                        

Jenny Pugh also explained that she will be moving out of the village limits sometime in 2005.  She has contacted the village solicitor about the possibility of continuing as the village clerk/treasurer.  She will report any new information at the January meeting.

 

Paul Price moved to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned.
