Village of Venedocia Council Meeting

 

 

Venedocia Lions Club                                                                        April 5, 2004

 

Mayor Ruen called the meeting to order with council members Jeff Davis, Charlie Good, Lee Lare, Paul Price and Robert Louth present.

 

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

 

The bills were presented as follows:

Lee Lare moved to pay all bills.  Jeff Davis seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Old Business

Mayor Ruen has made contact with Suever Stone Quarry. They plan to begin their work around the first of June and the village should be near the top of their list.

 

New Business

Jeff Davis stated that the County will sweep and load the grit left on the streets from this winter.  Jeff Davis made a motion to pay the wages of a County worker to do this.  Robert Louth seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Charlie Good will contact the church about the youth group cleaning the streets for the village.

 

Mayor Ruen showed the “Storm Ready” sign that will be posted on the town lot.  Jeff Davis will talk to Rod Eutsler about putting the sign up.

 

Mayor Ruen shared that the ODT 7th Annual Government Day will be held on Friday, April 30th from 9-12:00 for anyone interested in attending.  Also, the Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation District will meet on Friday, April 23rd.

 

Jenny Pugh reported that the state auditor’s office has made contact regarding the voided warrants from nearly 3 years ago. 

 

Charlie Good voiced his concern about the burn basket near the outhouse.  He feels that the basket is a safety and liability issue due to the fact that village residents are freely burning their trash in the basket.  He moved that the basket be removed.  Paul Price seconded the motion.  The motion carried with a three to two vote.  The village will take care of removing the basket.

 

Paul Price moved to adjourn the meeting.  Meeting adjourned.

The next meeting will be on May 3, 2004.
