Meeting was called to order by Mayor Doug Ruen.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bruns Vacuum and Jet $315.00 (#3561)

AEP(street lighting) $185.01 (#3562)

AEP(town storage building)$13.17 (#3563)

Jenny Pugh $247.90 (#3564)

Vernon Hobbs made a motion to pay preceding bills. Gloria Leiter seconded the motion. Motion carried. The mayor will inquire about the bill for the post office box.

Old Business

Mayor Ruen reported that it would cost approximately 8 cents per square foot for sealing the area discussed last month. This would equal approximately $800-$900 for the tennis courts and $400-$450 for the area in front of the Lions Club. Gloria Leiter moved to get on a list for the job to be done as soon as possible, be it this year or next. Vernon Hobbs seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Black chairs and table still need to be moved from storage building to Lions Club.

Jenny Pugh reported that through reading minutes from February of 2001, it was voted by council to pay the clerk/treasurer 25 cents per mile, $7.00 per hour, meals, and lodging for any meetings that the clerk/treasurer must attend.

Gloria Leiter reported that there are numerous vehicles (automobiles and snowmobiles) abandoned at the Patrick Jutte residence. The Larry Eutsler residence also has abandoned vehicles sitting around. The Robey residence will be looked at, as well. Each of these village residents will receive notice of this violation.

New Business

It was decided that trick-or-treat night will be held on Halloween night, Thursday, October 31, 2002 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. with costume judging to take place at the Lions Club at 8:00 p.m.

Mayor Doug Ruen gave a brief summary on the development of the Venedocia Library Committee. After contacting Warren Foy, Gloria Leiter reported that it would cost up to $400 to be surveyed and take at least 3 weeks to get started. Vernon Hobbs raised the concern of the Brumback Library backing out of staffing the library if not enough residents used the library. That question will be taken to the Brumback Library director.

Some members do not think the town lot is big enough to house a 1200 square foot building. Gloria Leiter moved to survey the lot. Robert Louth seconded the motion. Motion was denied.

Vernon Hobbs moved to adjourn the meeting, Robert Louth seconded. Meeting adjourned.
